Udaipur, fascists and false flag operations

Fascists have always been masters at false flag operations. As soon as a tailor was murdered in Udaipur by two terrorists, most of us assumed it to be a handiwork of Islamists, for they have a history of carrying out such acts over blasphemy. Turned out Riyaz Attari, one of them, has strong BJP links and is a “karyakarta” (activist) of the RSS’s minority wing Muslim Rashtriya Manch. Numeorus photographs of the terrorist wearing a BJP shawl and posing in photographs with top BJP leaders of Rajasthan, including the opposition leader Gulab Chand Kataria have surfaced. Now Kataria is one of the BJP leaders booked for murder charges in Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter killing case by the CBI in 2013. One Mr.Shah happened to be the other accused.

Riyaz Attari, the terrorist, was described as “dedicated worker of the BJP” in facebook posts by other BJP members. India Today, which broke the story, has presented his story as someone who may have “plotted to infiltrate” the Rajasthan BJP. The photographs and the accompanying captions would make us question that theory. In another photograph, he is seen with Ravindra Shreemali, head of the BJP in Udaipur. Incidentally, the Muslim Rashtriya Manch is headed by RSS leader Indresh Kumar, against whom fingers were pointed in the Samjhauta Express blast case.
The dots are just too many to be connected, but would probably remain untouched.

Many seem to be rejoicing at the Supreme Court’s remarks against Nupur Sharma. But the Judge’s observation that she is “single-handedly responsible for what is happening in the country” is wrong on so many levels. So is the attempt to hold her responsible for the Udaipur murders. For one, it would end up normalising murder as a response for blasphemy, which shouldn’t be a crime in any civilised country. Attempting to create disharmony and enmity between different religions should be a crime though. Holding her “single-handedly responsible” for all the communal poison in the public sphere currently would only end up whitewashing the job of a wide machinery consisting of saffron organisations, sold out media groups, top leaders and front organisations who have been working relentlessly over the past few years to vitiate the atmosphere. These observations (and the refusal to club FIRs filed across multiple states) could be weaponised at a later stage to hunt dissenters. Also, let’s not forget that Justices Surya Kant and J B Pardiwala had just a day before heard the Maharashtra trust vote case, and we know which way it went.

But, today’s bizarre news in India award must go to the incident wherein the Court order denying bail to Altnews co-founder Muhammed Zubair (in a fake case) was shared to the media by the Delhi Police, hours before the Judge even pronounced the order. When the Judge actually pronounced the order, it turned out to be the same order. New India is really something!
